Marija Božić, viola

MARIJA BOZIC was born on September 26, 2003. At the age of 9, she began playing the violin at the "Petar Kranjčević" Music School in Sremska Mitrovica, and at the age of 12, she switched to the viola in the class of Professor Aleksandar Stepanović. She continued her musical education at the School of Music Talents in the class of Professor Miloš Simić. As a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, she has performed in significant halls in Serbia such as the Kolarac Foundation Hall and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts Gallery.

 

In 2018, as a member of the School of Music Talents orchestra, she participated in a tour of Italy under the baton of conductor Igor Koreti.

 

She is the winner of the highest awards at national and international competitions, including first prizes at the "Stringfest" International Competition, the International Competition of String Players in Niš, EMCY International Competition "Petar Konjović", the Republican competition of ZMBŠS, the Republican competition in chamber music, the Republican Festival of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia (string quartet), and more. She has attended master classes by renowned musicians and educators such as Panta Veličković, Ljubomir Milanović, Nemanja Marjanović (FMU, Belgrade), Evgenija Epštajn (Israel), Ana Krzizak (Poland), Lazar Miletić (Norway), Denis Krasnokutski (USA) Predrag Katanić (Linz). In August 2021, she trained at the prestigious Menuhin Academy in Switzerland, where she attended viola and chamber music lessons with professors Gerard Caussé and Ivan Vukčević.
