ANDI DURAKU was born in Gjakova (Kosovo) and began studying piano at the "Prenk Jakova" music school in Gjakova with Besim Qorri. He completed his primary and secondary education there before earning his bachelor's and master's degrees in the class of Lejla Pula at the University of Pristina. Andi is a winner of multiple competitions, including the grand prix in the "Young Pianist" competition in 2012, the first absolute prize and grand prix in the Ars Kosova Music Competition in 2017, and the Chopin Piano Fest special prize, which gave him the opportunity to perform a recital in Bonn, Germany. He also won second prize in the Music Competition "Barleta" in Italy.
In 2016, Andi won the Berlin audition in Kosovo, which included a solo concert at the Berlin Philharmonic. He has performed as a soloist with the Kamerfest Orchestra playing J.S. Bach's Piano Concerto in d minor in 2017 and as a soloist with the Gjakova Ensemble. In 2022, he performed two concertos with the North Macedonian Orchestra. He is very active in concerts, both as a soloist and in duos and trios, and is currently a pianist for the Kosovo Philharmonic Choir. Andi has given concerts in Germany, Switzerland, France, Turkey, Albania, and North Macedonia and is also a part of the biggest Kosovo festivals.
He has participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Dmitry Bashkirov, Eldar Nebolsin, Giovanni Belluci, Jerome Granjon, Istvan Lajko, Christopher Hinterhuber, Stephan Möller, and Janosz Ballasz.
