Ms. Mirja Capor

Ms. Mirja Capor (1989, Dubrovnik), after finishing high school education in Dubrovnik Gymnasium, she enrolled at the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Zagreb, where in 2012 she obtained a bachelor's degree. During her graduate studies she gained work experience in Croatian national and local media services in Zagreb (HRT, TV student, radio 101, Radio student) and in Dubrovnik (DUTV, radio Soundset Ragusa). At that time, she developed an interest in cultural and media practices in public spaces as well as in different ways of spatial use in terms of transgression and gentrification. In 2015 she successfully defended the dissertation "Transgression of space - example of the Belvedere Hotel" (Media & the City, FPZG) mentored by Prof. Zlatan Krajina, PhD and gained a master's degree in journalism. After graduation she returned to Dubrovnik and joined the team working on Dubrovnik's candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2020, where she coordinated a ‘Public Exposure’ project consisting of eleven artistic interventions by renowned Croatian artists in public space. Since 2016, she has been working at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival as an expert associate / OFF program coordinator in the music and dance programme department of the Festival.
